How do you attach active RFID tags to steel, piping, and other materials?  Typically, tags are attached using all weather cable ties.  In cases where a cable tie is not possible an adhesive is used to attach the tag as long as the adhesive will not damage the underlying material.

There are typically three ways to perform the association:

  • Barcode to Barcode Scan
  • Select Material ID from List on Handheld
  • Manually Enter Material ID

The Jovix™ Mobile software on the handheld has a scrolling interface that can be used to easily filter and find the data that the user needs.  See below for pictures of RFID tagging and tag association in the field.

Once the RFID tag is attached to the material a user will use a handheld device to associate the unique material ID with the unique RFID Tag ID.  From that point on the material is tracked in the Jovix™ system by the unique material ID.  The location of your material can then be viewed from a web browser and you can create pick tickets that can be printed and dowloaded to the handheld computer to assist in the locating of the material.  It's that easy!
