Jovix® is proud to partner with Shell on the Tiger AO4 Project, the largest alpha olefins producer in North America, at the Shell Geismar facility in South Louisiana. Alpha olefins are used to produce household detergents, plastics, synthetic lubricants, and drilling fluids, among other useful products. At Geismar, an expansion project is being executed – the Tiger AO4 Project – which will add an additional 425,000 tons of capacity. Upon completion, it will be the largest alpha olefins producer in the world. The project utilizes local relationships and resources, with an emphasis on working with local contractors. Turner Industries is the largest and primary construction contractor on the project in terms of workforce size.
At Geismar, Shell is taking advantage of state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technologies such as ProjectVantage, a technology platform and suite of tools, to enable the construction management processes. ProjectVantage uses data-centric ways of working, which allow increased collaboration, especially in the field, and lead to higher productivity and savings in a move towards achieving a gold medal target.
