Jovix 2017.8 Release Notes

Jovix VMR

Hardware: Empowering Sites with the Best in Performance

Here is what you need to know about Jovix’s latest release.

Our proprietary Vehicle Mounted Reader® (VMR) got a major overhaul in this release, including a marked improvement in the speed with which the VMR can read tags – meaning we’re now able to read tags at a rate faster than any reader can collect them. This was a crucial hurdle to overcome as reads are much more “fast and furious” in the world of passive tags.

The second major improvement for the VMR is that the algorithm for locating passive tags was drastically improved – ensuring that location reads are optimized to the tag location – accounting for things such as GPS error, reader distance gauging, angle from the vehicle, and direction / speed of the vehicle. Combined, these new inventions have led us to securing intellectual property for a patent, and as a result, Atlas RFID Solutions has its first patent pending.

Also, we want to introduce our new flagship “offline” tablet, the Panasonic ToughPad FZ-G1. We are wrapping up our final and most vigorous certification testing with GPS crash testing, troubleshooting, and support. It continues to pass with flying colors.

Finally, our trusted Zebra P4T printer is ceasing manufacture this month, so we’ve been busy testing the Zebra ZQ520 Mobile Printer. This replacement is doing very well in testing – and it’s been subjected to heat, cold, scratching, smashing, having sand shot at it by a leaf blower, etc. We’re excited with the results and expect full certification to be forthcoming!
